Software Engineer and Lecturer
I help Young People in the UK transition into tech.
About Samuel
I’m a Software Engineer and Trainer, driven by a passion for turning complex data
into actionable insights. With a blend of hands-on industry experience and academic rigor, I’ve been
able to mentor and lead with impact. Currently, I'm a lecturer at ARU Peterborough, teaching
resources
in Data Analysis and software Development.
In the classroom, I focus on giving students practical, real-world skills
that will help them thrive
in today’s fast-paced tech landscape. My goal is always to simplify complex ideas, making them
accessible and actionable for
all my students.
Alongside my teaching role, I’m the co-founder and CTO of Botsurance, an insurtech startup that’s
changing the way people access insurance. Botsurance makes it possible for users to secure genuine
insurance coverage in less than five minutes, removing the typical hurdles and frustrations that come
with traditional insurance processes.

YesTo30 Mentorship Program
As an active member in the YesTo30mentoring community, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of connecting young people under 30 with experienced mentors from various industries. My own journey began as a mentee in the program, where I was profoundly influenced by the guidance of tech expert, Bukar Kyari. In turn, I have chosen to contribute to this vibrant community by mentoring young aspiring tech professionals, including Abigail Adeboga, who has gone on to excel as the lead frontend developer at Concept-Nova.
Google Developers Group (GDG)
GDG Leicester was established to create a thriving
community for developers across the Midlands, UK.
As Chapter Lead, I have grown the group into a dynamic hub
for knowledge sharing through workshops, technical talks,
certification study groups, mentorship programs, and university
outreach initiatives. Through structured learning paths such as
the "Becoming a Certified Google Engineer" series and Professional
Data Engineer sessions, we bridge knowledge gaps and equip members
with practical, industry-relevant skills.
In an era where only 3–6% of learners complete self-paced online
courses, GDG Leicester’s Certification Study Group achieved a
71% completion rate, with 28 out of 39 participants successfully
finishing their training and 13 earning official Google Cloud
certifications. Aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG
8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), the initiative accelerates
career growth, enhances professional credibility, and cultivates
a globally competitive tech workforce in the region.
Botsurance
Botsurance is a tech-enabled solution that leverages
chatbots and AI to provide simplified, genuine insurance
coverage to Nigerians. With over 12 million Nigerians
driving on fake vehicle insurance, according to Punch, three
out of every four vehicles put the lives of other road users
at risk. By offering a seamless digital platform, Botsurance
is changing the narrative and ensuring compliance with
insurance regulations.
Our approach supports entrepreneurship as a pathway to
economic empowerment and also aligns with SDG 8 (Decent Work
and Economic Growth) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and
Communities). By broadening access to legitimate insurance
options, Botsurance fosters safer roads, resilient
communities, and a more inclusive economic landscape.
KetuHub
KetuHub is a community-driven tech hub created from an
underutilized section of the Botsurance office space
to address a critical gap in access to reliable
electricity and high-speed internet. Recognizing
that many young Nigerians face infrastructural and
socioeconomic barriers that limit their growth in technology,
KetuHub provides an affordable (£35 per month), dedicated
workspace for up to 10 tech enthusiasts at a time. It offers
a stable environment where aspiring developers, designers,
and digital creators can learn, build, and collaborate
without disruption.
Aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8
(Decent Work and Economic Growth), KetuHub promotes
digital inclusion, talent development, and grassroots
innovation. By creating access to essential resources
and fostering a strong learning community, the initiative
contributes to building a resilient tech ecosystem and
unlocking opportunities for sustainable economic advancement.
100DaysOfCode.NG
I created 100DaysOfCode in Nigeria to motivate aspiring
developers to commit at least one hour of coding each day
for 100 days. Participants share their progress daily on
Instagram and
Twitter using the
hashtag #100DaysOfCode, creating a
vibrant community of learners and fostering peer support. By
awarding a random, consistent participant a weekly ₦50,000
prize, the initiative encourages perseverance and celebrates
collective growth in programming skills.
Aligned with the SDG4 - Quality Education, 100DaysOfCode.NG
promotes continuous learning, digital literacy, and
innovative problem-solving. This approach not only empowers
individuals to develop in-demand tech skills, but also
contributes to a skilled workforce that drives national
development and global competitiveness.
XCelGarage
XcelGarage is a comprehensive Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and learning
platform developed to support Computer Science students at the University
of Ibadan during the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to a call from the
university, I volunteered to build XcelGarage.com, a robust web application
that enables students to learn, practice, and prepare effectively for
examinations. Covering courses from 100 to 400 level, the platform offers
lecture notes, e-books, adaptive quizzes, and practice tests that
adjust to each student's performance level.
With built-in performance analytics, time tracking, and progress
insights, XcelGarage empowers students to identify strengths,
close knowledge gaps, and set measurable goals. Aligned with
SDG 4 (Quality Education), the initiative enhances digital
learning, improves academic outcomes, and strengthens the
foundation of future technology professionals through data-driven,
personalized education.
LearnFirst
LearnFirst is a powerful browser extension designed to help
learners stay focused by minimizing online distractions. In
a world where entertainment apps often overshadow study
time, it ensures students develop crucial academic skills
rather than simply indulging in leisure. By requiring users
to pass quick quizzes before accessing social media and
entertainment sites, LearnFirst gently enforces a “learn
first, play later” routine.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal
4 (Quality Education), this approach cultivates a generation
that values knowledge and remains globally competitive. By
promoting responsible digital habits, LearnFirst not only
supports personal academic growth but also contributes to
sustainable societal progress on a broader scale.
